The IBSC Flow Cytometry Facility offers multicolor cell analysis by a BD FACS LSRII cell analyzer and single-cell sorting by a BD Biosciences FACS Aria cell sorter. We will work with you to design your experiment and develop your protocol. We encourage users to become self-operators if they expect to be doing regular FACS analysis, but we do offer fully assisted cell sorting and analysis by appointment. The facility is located on the 4th floor of the Biomedical Sciences Building. It is available for use by any interested researcher for stem cell research as well as other life sciences research. The cost to use the LSR or ARIA varies based on whether you are within or outside UCSC, and non-UCSC nonprofits receive a special rate.

This core facility is supported by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM) and the California Institute for Quantitative Biosciences (QB3).

Announcements

• Recharge rates for the BD FACS Aria and the BD FACS LSRII changed on July 1, 2012. See the fee schedule.
• The FACS recharge invoicing process is now automated (since August 1, 2012) and uses CruzIDs to track instrument use for billing purposes. Contact the facility manager for details.

Hours of Operation

Our normal staff hours are Monday through Friday, 7:30 am-4:00 pm.
